We are a co-ed community robotics team comprised of 13 to 18-year-olds from Austin, TX that participates in FRC (First Robotics Competition).Nine years ago, a group of homeschool kids created a robotics team in their garage because they wanted to compete, but there wasn’t a team that they could join. Since then our team size quintupled, and we are moving out of our second garage. We have a passion for STEM education, and we love sharing it with everyone we can in our community. Our mentors are professional engineers, business leaders, and Howdy Bot alumni. Our team wouldn’t be here without our fantastic families support!
Every January, we receive a set of rules and details for the year’s game, and then have 6-8 weeks to strategize, design, model, and construct a 120-pound robot. Our team operates as a small engineering company, with responsibilities that also include marketing, fundraising, programming, and so much more.
Are you interested in becoming a Howdy Bot? We are looking for enthusiastic, focused, and dedicated 13-18 year olds to join our team! Click here for more information.
