Welcome to the Howdy Bots Rodeo, an internal training event created by and for Howdy Bots. The game changes yearly, and is created by students and mentors of the Howdy Bots. Below are a few of our past games.

A deadly virus has escaped containment in the Howdy Bots LAB! In INFECTION DEFLECTION, 2 ALLIANCES of 2 ROBOTS each must deploy their hazmat ROBOTS to pick up BEAKERS of the deadly virus scattered around the LAB and place them into their ALLIANCE CONTAINMENT ZONE or, preferably, into a single NEUTRALIZATION CHAMBER shared by both ALLIANCES.

It’s the day before the annual “Most Beautiful Ranch” contest, and your ranch has become infested with pesky varmints! Because you don’t abide by killin’ (and to give you a leg up in the competition), you’ve decided to “relocate” as many of the varmints to your neighbor’s ranch before the judges show up. Unfortunately, it looks like your neighbor has the same idea, so time to get hoppin’!

In BUMBLE BOT BONANZA, two Alliances of two teams each, work to prepare their hive’s for
the coming freeze. Each Alliance races to collect and hoard Nectar in order to have enough
food to survive. To ensure their future prosperity, each Alliance works to score Pollen in the
Flower Power Port. Near the end of the match workers race back to their Loading Zone to keep
warm during the night!

During the 15 second Autonomous Period, workers follow pre-programmed instructions. Alliances score points by: 1) Moving from the Hive Line. 2) Scoring Pollen in the Flower Power Port. 3) Collecting Nectar and depositing it in the Hive. In the final 2 minutes and 15 seconds of the match, drivers take control of their workers. Alliances score points by: 1) Continue to score Pollen in the Flower Power Port. 2) Continue to bring
Nectar back to the Hive. 3) Steal Nectar from the rival Hive. 4) Parking in the Loading Zone. The Alliance with the highest score at the end of the match wins.
