In 2026, FIRST dug into archeology with the FIRST AGE theme. In the FIRST Robotics Competition game, REBUILT, two competing alliances are invited to score fuel, cross obstacles, and climb the tower before time runs out. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds.

Meet our 2026 Robot, Lone Ranger
Siren is an incredibly unique robot. There is a 25″ x 8″ hole in the center of the drive train, which allows it to deep climb. The intake uses two horizontal shafts with compliant wheels to pick up coral from the ground or the source and score it into the trough. It can also pick up algae from the ground to score in the processor. The intake feeds into a carriage attached to the carbon fiber elevator to score on all three levels of the reef. The elevator is continuously rigged using capstans made by our lathe. It has an incredibly fast L1 cycle time, at around 3 seconds!
